Mumbai police have seized a Lamborghini car whose driver was spotted driving at an incredible speed of 252 kilometers per hour on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in the city, officials said.

In the statement made on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, it was stated that the incident occurred on December 12 and that a lawsuit was filed against the driver of the vehicle, whose identity has not yet been determined, after a video showing this reckless behavior emerged.

“Video shot inside the luxury sports car shows the speedometer reaching 252 km per hour, outpacing other vehicles as it heads towards the southern end of the sea link,” an official said.

Police officials said they later reviewed CCTV footage from the area and found that the same car had violated the speed limit multiple times and multiple warnings had been issued against it.

Police said that the driver of this sports car violated the speed limit and traffic norms because the speed limit for cars on the sea connection is 80 km per hour.

They added that a case was registered against the driver of the vehicle at Worli police station in central Mumbai under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 281 of the Motor Vehicles Act for rash and negligent driving on public roads and the vehicle was seized.

They added that further investigation into the incident was ongoing.
