Lanlan Yang pleads not guilty to all charges over crash of $1.5m Rolls Royce SUV in Sydney’s east | Sydney

High-profile Sydney Chinese woman Lanlan Yang has pleaded not guilty to all charges relating to a crash in Sydney’s eastern suburbs in July that left the driver of FM radio presenter Kyle Sandilands seriously injured.

The 23-year-old was accused of being behind the wheel of a $1.5 million Rolls-Royce SUV when it collided with a Mercedes driven by George Plassaras on New South Head Road in Rose Bay on July 26.

Yang was charged with refusing or failing to submit to a breath analysis, dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, failure to provide detailed information to the police, and negligent driving (causing grievous bodily harm).

His lawyer, Michael Korn, pleaded not guilty to all four charges and requested a brief of evidence for review from police.

Apart from the first word, Yang was exempted from attending the hearing by the court when he appeared in court via video appearance.

“Obviously the issue is quite difficult, there is a lot of interest, but we are addressing this issue,” Korn told the media outside court.

Yang’s case attracted attention from the Chinese Australian community and Chinese-speaking social media due to speculation about his lavish wealth and past.

Dozens of Chinese Australians attended previous hearings to observe. This time, only seven community members were present, including the Chinese YouTube shock jock known as Sydney Daddy.

Yang remains on bail with the same conditions, including reporting regularly to the local police station.

NSW police have been ordered to provide a summary of evidence to Yang’s legal team by January 9. The case will return to court on January 30.
