While a historic building goes up in flames, huge clouds of smoke are choking a city in England.

St Andrew’s Church in Leicester was reported to be in flames on Wednesday morning.

Leicestershire Fire Brigade confirmed they were responding to the fire on Jarrom Street.

All local residents were warned to close their doors and windows.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Control said: “There has been an incident on Jarrom Street in Leicester City, which is spreading smoke over the city. Please keep windows and doors closed!”
