Late Queen broke royal tradition for Kate’s parents with bold move | Royal | News

The late Queen Elizabeth II Elizabeth has reportedly broken a major royal tradition for Carole and Michael Middleton. Princess Catherine’s parents were reportedly invited to stay at Balmoral Castle rather than staying at one of the other houses on the estate during their previous visit to Scotland in September 2016.
At the late Queen’s request, Carole and Michael were traveling to Scotland to spend time with William and Catherine, as well as their grandchildren Prince George and Princess Charlotte, aged three and one at the time.
A source said Daily MailEditor-in-Chief Richard Kay said the decision was “William’s idea”.
The source said: “[William] He very much wanted his grandmother to make them particularly welcome. “They were at the head of a very long guest list.”
William has long had a close bond with his father-in-law, especially his mother-in-law.
Former royal butler Grant Harold has previously spoken of the warm bond between William and the Middleton family.
speaking on behalf of Heart Bingo Online, Mr Harrold previously said: “William always had a good relationship with Kate’s parents, especially her mother Carole.
“He would go to their house on the weekends while I was working with the family, and I know he really enjoyed it.”
Sources also discussed how much the Middletons welcomed William into their family, sharing: “They’re a warm and welcoming family, and I think it’s given him some of the normalcy he craves in his 20s and 30s.”
