Sunil Mittal unveils succession plan as Airtel raises Arpu ambition to ₹350

“The next generation of my family – a bigger family – are all building muscle in different shapes and forms. They run their own businesses, their own clothing, and they train outside the system,” Mittal told analysts on Feb. 26. Describing it as a ‘unique experiment’ unlike other Indian promoter organisations, Mittal said, “they all (the new generation members of the Mittal family) are learning their trade and business in some way; I believe this is a better way of being independent, autonomous, experiencing their failures and successes, seeing the pain points of businesses, managing conflicts.”
