Lavrov says Russia wants a multipolar world that includes the West

Despite the ongoing tensions on the war in the West and Ukraine, Russia’s best diplomat wanted to establish dialogue.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said to the students at Elite Mgimo University of Moscow on Monday: “We don’t want to build walls.”

He said that Russia’s vision of a multipolar world includes the West and warned against attempts to isolate Russia.

“It would be to build ‘Berlin Walls’ between our wide Eurasian area, which is the Western style, themselves and the Soviet Union, which is now the Soviet Union and is now the Soviet Union.” He said.

Lavrov stressed that Moscow is looking for a dialogue with equal terms and did not seek revenge. “Anger is a weak advisor,” he said, but warned that the West is condemned to fail to fault Russia.

Relations between Russia and Western countries have fallen to a new low level since the occupation of Moscow’s Ukraine more than three and a half years ago. While Moscow faced unprecedented sanctions, Kiev received comprehensive financial and military support from the West.
