According to local news, two people died and two others were seriously injured when a car crashed into a crowd in Germany. The incident took place in the center of Leipzig, eastern Germany, where the vehicle plowed into pedestrians.
Leipzig police confirmed there were injuries caused by a driving vehicle but could not provide evacuation details. Saxony Police said a driver was detained after local media reported that a person in a damaged Volkswagen SUV was seen speeding through a pedestrian zone. The incident took place on Grimmaische Street, a major shopping street connecting many landmarks to Leipzig’s market square.
