Ley’s reunification deadline approaches. Will the Nats negotiate?

We reach the end of the week with continued concerns about whether the Coalition will be able to reconcile its differences sooner. Susan Ley The deadline was set for Sunday as some lawmakers tried to push for an extension of the talks.

ABC It quotes Nationals sources as saying a letter was sent to Ley last night outlining a set of conditions for the renewed Coalition partnership. In a sign of how well things are going, one Nationals MP apparently said the party “didn’t expect” that Ley’s counter-offer on reunification terms would be acceptable to the Liberals.
