Liberals, Nationals to meet on net zero; Albanese wants deals with Fiji, Vanuatu

Angus Taylor, now the Coalition’s defense spokesman, told the Daily Telegraph that in the six months since he lost the leadership vote to Sussan Ley he had spoken to colleagues about what their agenda should be “and I will put my hand up to continue to pursue that agenda.”

Taylor says the Coalition has five big battles to fight with the Albanian government: net zero, immigration, family policy, investment and defence.

Members of the right have signaled they want to discuss how much to reduce immigration, and Ley said that would be his next priority.

Taylor also called for more prominent roles for three of her backbenchers, neo-conservative Senator Jess Collins and senators Jacinta Price and Sarah Henderson, who both refused to express confidence in Ley: “We need people like this. [Price, Henderson, and Collins] “I’m on the field and playing.”
