‘Like a dream’ – Tammy Abraham relishing Aston Villa return

Tammy Abraham is back scoring goals, seven years after sending them to the Premier League. Aston Villa To keep their fans and managers dreaming of victory.

With Villa on the verge of losing 1-0 to Leeds United on Saturday, substitute Abraham, who had only been on the field for 13 minutes, kneed the ball into the net to equalize in the 88th minute.

It was the 29-year-old’s second goal since returning to the club from Beşiktaş in January for an £18.2m fee, after scoring in the 3-1 FA Cup defeat to Newcastle seven days earlier.

But scoring goals for Villa is nothing new for the 11-time England international. During the 2018-19 season, on loan from Chelsea, he scored 25 goals in 37 Championship matches to help his club gain promotion.

Following his first spell at Villa, Abraham spent two seasons at Chelsea, three at Roma, one on loan at AC Milan, then another on loan at Beşiktaş; The Turkish club bought him and then immediately sold him to Villa for a profit.

“It feels like a dream to come back and play for this club again,” Abraham said. “I’m happy to be here and bring extra energy.

“I had to sniff around the box, be alert and be ready. Luckily, I scored the goal; I did it in front of some of the best fans in the world.”
