The duo would later form the band Limp Bizkit with drummer John Otto in 1994. Two years later, guitarist Wes Borland and turntablist DJ Lethal also joined the band.

But due to a home life that was far from ‘wonderful’, he started drinking again and later received warnings from medical professionals.

‘It got so bad that I had to go to UCLA Hospital and the doctor said to me: ‘If you don’t stop, you’re going to die. And right now you look like you need a new liver.’

Rivers added, ‘I battled liver disease for a few years and won. ‘I had to have a liver transplant in 2017.’

He rejoined Limp Bizkit in 2018 and continued to tour with the metal band.
