Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said in a post on X on Wednesday that he expects the U.S. blockade of Iran to “go global soon.”
The long-serving lawmaker said he spoke with President Donald Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth on Wednesday morning.
“I had a very good conversation this morning with @POTUS and @SecWar Pete Hegseth about the path forward on the Iran conflict. I think the President’s decision to leave the blockade in place is a very smart one. It has a strong impact on Iran’s ability to continue to be the largest state sponsor of terrorism – which they appear intent on doing. I don’t expect this blockade to remain in place not only until Iran shows the determination to change its ways, I think the blockade will grow and this will continue.
