Lionel Richie, 77, ‘taken to hospital by ambulance’ after dizzy spell onstage saw him end concert

Lionel Richie was hospitalized after falling ill on stage on Wednesday.
The 77-year-old music legend sparked widespread fears after revealing he felt ‘dizzy’ and sat down during his performance before abruptly ending his show at the Grand Casino Arena in St Paul, Minnesota.
Now sources close to the star said: TMZ Paramedics met the shooter backstage and the man was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
It has been stated that this is a precautionary measure, but Richie’s current health condition is unknown and his team has not yet made a public speech at the concert.
The Daily Mail has contacted Richie’s representatives for comment.
The drama first emerged at the start of Richie’s joint Sing A Song All Night Long tour with Earth, Wind & Fire.

Richie’s band also reportedly left the stage minutes later, but 40 minutes after they stopped performing, a band member returned and announced he could not return because he felt sick.

The singer’s team has yet to find a solution to his impromptu departure from the stage.
Fans who attended the show shared their concerns on social media and revealed that the singer was signaling that she wasn’t feeling well throughout the performance.
In videos of her performing, the singer reportedly stopped to sit down multiple times during her second-to-last song, Dancing On The Ceiling, and told the crowd that she felt ‘dizzy’ during the performance.
Richie was able to sit on the piano bench for what turned out to be the last song of the night.
A fan who attended the concert said Richie said: ‘He’s been in this long enough, if you get dizzy, sit down!’ And if you don’t feel well, sit down!’
According to Jon Bream of the Minnesota Star Tribune, Richie was even saltier with his advice, quoting the singer as saying: ‘If you’re feeling dizzy, sit down.’

Despite not feeling well, Richie appeared to sing throughout the song’s sit-down portion rather than relying on the guide vocal.
After sitting for less than ten seconds, Richie stood up and began moving toward the stage again.
But less than 30 seconds later, he stopped to sit back down on the risers on the opposite side of the stage while continuing to sing.

He and the funk icons’ next concert will be in Chicago on Friday, June 26; Earth, Wind & Fire performs in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 13.
Richie’s saxophonist Dino Soldo, who later confirmed that the remainder of the show had been canceled, sat next to the singer during Dancing On The Ceiling, the Star Tribune reported.
The publication reported that about 15 minutes after Richie announced his surprise hiatus, the audience began to exit the venue as soon as Richie’s band left the stage.
One disappointed audience member described the show’s surprise ending as ‘terrible’ when speaking to the Star Tribune.

While the first half of the concert featured the performance of Earth, Wind & Fire, Richie took the stage in the second half of the night.
The music icons are currently scheduled to visit 26 cities through August 14, and their next stop will be the United Center in Chicago on Friday, June 26.
