Lithuania to give children drone training to counter Russia threat | Lithuania

Children in Lithuania will be taught how drones will be built and operated as part of the small Baltic country’s efforts to develop capacity to cope with Russia’s future threat.

In a joint attempt by the Ministries of Defense and Education, the government said on Tuesday that more than 22,000 people, including school children, hoped to teach more than 22,000 to teach as a part of the attempt to expand civil resistance education ”.

The government said the program would be adapted to different age groups, and that the third and fourth grade students between the ages of eight and 10 years will learn to build simple drones and pilot. Secondary school students will design and produce drone parts and learn how to build and fly advanced drones.

Lithuania, a country of Kaliningrad and Moscow, such as Estonia and Latvia, a country consisting of 2.8 million people outside the Russian, is highly awake for the war due to Vladimir Putin’s full -scale occupation of Ukraine.

A perception of Russian threat in the Baltic states underlined on Wednesday with the deportation of a Russian diplomat from Estonia. Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahknna said that this was due to “ongoing intervention” in state affairs.

Tsahknna, “the diplomat, Estonia’s constitutional order and legal system was directly and actively involved in the underlying… Russian Embassy in the Republic of Estonia should end the internal internal affairs of the Republic of Estonia,” he said.

In Lithuania, the government plans to spend € 3.3 million (£ 2.9 million) to expert equipment, including a mobile application for training on the first -domestic and outdoor viewing plane, control and video transmission systems and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

Defense Minister Dovilė šakalien Sen said: “We plan to have drone control skills until 15,500 adults and 7,000 children will obtain drone control skills until 2028. In September we will open drone control centers in Jonava, Tauragė and K without 2028.

The training will be carried out by the Lithuanian Riflemen Union, which will train children in primary and secondary schools, together with the non -intensive education agency.

Lithuania increases its focus on drone technology, and the UAVs were widely used for drone capabilities over its borders after two incidents in July when two suspects from Belarus passed into Lithuanian territory.

The education of children in drones in Russia has been controversial, and last month, the revelation of the claim that children are systematically involved in the design and testing of technology using video games.
