Armed police cordoned off part of one of Liverpool’s busiest streets while emergency services were at the scene on Seel Street, near the Ropewalks Hotel. Images taken from the scene show many emergency personnel, many police cars, pickup trucks and fire trucks on the street. According to an eyewitness, police arrived in full equipment and with riot shields around 6.10pm. Liverpool Echo.

Merseyside Police said: “We are on Seel Street, Liverpool, this evening (Saturday, May 9) to locate a man reported missing. We were called shortly after 4pm to reports the man had been seen in the area. On arrival the man made threats to officers from a hotel room in Seel Street and officers set up a security guard as a precaution while contacting the man.”
