Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland ‘technical glitch’ showing other users’ transactions to customers

Mobile customers using Lloyds, Bank of Scotland and Halifax banking apps reported being able to view transactions in other users’ accounts.
Customers of Lloyds Banking Group, which owns all three brands, flagged the apparent technical glitch on Thursday morning.
It is not thought that users can see information such as account number or name added to payments.
Lloyds confirmed the issue on social media platform
In a later update on the platform, the bank said: “This morning we incorrectly displayed transaction information from some accounts to other customers on Internet Banking and the mobile app. We are sorry this occurred. This issue was quickly identified and resolved.”
“Rest assured that no one has accessed your accounts. We are currently reviewing what happened to ensure this does not happen again. Protecting our customers’ personal information and account security remains our priority.”
A woman in Scotland told the BBC that she was able to see transactions from six different users within a 20-minute period.
These included benefit payments from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), which used recipients’ National Insurance numbers as payment references.

A Lloyds Banking Group spokesman said: “We are sorry that some customers briefly had trouble viewing transactions in the app this morning. The issue was quickly resolved and we are investigating what happened.”
This is breaking news, more to come…
