Logan police chase ends with boys, aged 11 to 14, charged over stolen vehicle
Four boys, including an 11-year-old, have been charged after police chased Logan in an allegedly stolen car.
Police spotted a blue BYD Shark driving dangerously in Woodridge at around 8.10pm on Friday, less than an hour after the car was reported stolen from Sunnybank shopping center car park.
The chase covered several suburbs before returning to Logan; where police deployed a tire deflation device, causing the driver to lose control on Birun Street in Woodridge.
Footage of the chase released by the Queensland Police Service shows the vehicle climbing median strips and swerving around cars.
Four teenagers – an 11-year-old from Waterford West, a 13-year-old from Waterford West and Eagleby and a 14-year-old from Kingston – were arrested at the scene and later charged with offenses including unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
One of the 13-year-old boys was also charged with dangerous driving, evading police and driving without a licence.
The 11-year-old boy was also charged with possession of a knife in public.
All four children will appear in court in the coming weeks.
