Lokesh Stresses Human Resource Development at Digii100x Conference

visakhapatnam:Education and IT Minister N. Lokesh emphasized the need for continued investment in human resources, stating that talent remains the key driver of competitiveness in the modern economy.

Speaking at the valedictory session of the Digii100x Andhra Pradesh conference in Visakhapatnam, Lokesh said creating a skilled workforce is essential to achieve the goal of a developed India.

Speaking in the presence of representatives from academia, industry and the technology sector, he said Andhra Pradesh has established itself as a source of talented professionals assuming leadership positions across the world. He attributed this legacy to reforms initiated during previous administrations led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and said the state’s greatest strength was its human capital.

Lokesh said education should focus on lifelong learning rather than just getting a degree. He announced that a skills portal will be launched within two weeks to prepare students for emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

The minister said he chose to oversee the Education portfolio because of his interest in shaping future generations and creating opportunities for innovation and leadership. He added that Andhra Pradesh is committed to creating research-oriented institutions that can compete globally.

Touching on the increasing role of artificial intelligence, Lokesh said that educational institutions that effectively adopt new technologies will be in a better position to deal with future challenges. He said the government is trying to integrate artificial intelligence into education, research and management.

Highlighting the recent investments, the minister said Andhra Pradesh has attracted projects in sectors such as automobile, steel, cement, drone and biogas. He also touched upon the investments and industrial projects secured by the state last year.

Lokesh said education and economic development are closely linked and noted that the government has developed 22 industrial clusters to create employment opportunities in various sectors, from aquaculture to aviation.

He urged the students to remain resilient in the face of challenges and continue striving towards their goals.
