London Tube strikes live: Commuters braced for second walkout as Khan urges last-minute talks
MP blames Mayor of London for RMT strikes
Conservative MP blames Sadiq Khan for RMT strikes after promising “zero” days of strike action.
Gareth Bacon, Shadow Secretary for London and MP for Orpington, said: “Londoners are being held to ransom once again because of Sadiq Khan’s abject failure to stand up to militant unions.
“As his watchman, he promised a zero-day strike, but like many of his election promises, he spectacularly failed to deliver.
“As always, the Mayor’s silence is deafening. Londoners deserve to know what he is doing to end this strike action once and for all.”

Which Metro lines will be affected?
TfL said the strikes would affect the entire tube network, but reduced service would remain on most lines, with significant cuts.
However, services will not be provided on the following issues:
- Piccadilly and Circle lines
- Metropolitan line between Baker Street and Aldgate
- Central line between White City and Liverpool Street
The Elizabeth line, DLR, London Overground and tram services will operate as normal on strike days, but are likely to be very busy.

When is the next cylinder strike?
Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) went on strike on Tuesday and will strike again on Thursday over the dispute over the four-day week.
The union announced that it expects new talks to be held next week to resolve the dispute.
The planned strike action will take down significant parts of the network for two days, each for 24 hours or for its entirety.
On Thursday, passengers can expect almost no service before 6.30am or after 9pm. There will be serious disruptions in the morning, noon and evening.

London Mayor says RMT and TfL must return to ‘negotiating table’
London Mayor Sadiq Khan has called on RMT bosses to return to the negotiating table as passengers prepare for a second 24-hour work stoppage this week.
“RMT and TfL need to sit down and resolve their differences,” Mayor Khan said on BBC Radio London yesterday.
“Another strike is planned for Thursday and there is still time for the RMT to call it off. Striking workers are losing a day’s pay, TfL are losing income, businesses are losing customers, people with hospital appointments can’t get through to them. This is a huge inconvenience,” he added.
