Two men have been arrested following a fight in Stoke-on-Trent in which two people suffered stab wounds, Staffordshire Police said this afternoon.
The statement said: “At 11.45am today (Saturday 6 June), we were called to The Strand in Longton following reports of a group of people fighting in the street.
“The men were then seen running towards the market in the direction of Fenton.
“Officers attended the scene along with paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service and established a cordon. “Two men with multiple suspected stab wounds were located and taken to hospital.
“Two men from Stoke-on-Trent were arrested. A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 – wounding with intent. Another man, aged 22, was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 – causing grievous bodily harm with intent.”
