Louisiana manhunt enters sixth month for alleged deadly wrong-way driver

Last fall, St. The manhunt continues into its sixth month for a Louisiana man charged with vehicular manslaughter who allegedly drove the wrong way on a highway in St. John the Baptist Parish and killed a recent college graduate.
Crime Stoppers of Great New Orleans said this week that Manmeet Singh, 30, had a felony warrant issued in late October charging him with vehicular manslaughter, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and driving the wrong way.
He is wanted by the Louisiana State Police, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the U.S. Marshals Service New Orleans Task Force.
Singh was last known to be living in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and was working as a rideshare driver in New Orleans.

Singh was allegedly driving under the influence when he hit 21-year-old Patricia Saidu head-on on Interstate 10 in September.
Saidu was trapped in his vehicle in flames and died immediately from his injuries.
Singh was taken to hospital with serious injuries, with a blood alcohol level of 0.21%, but he recovered and was released before police could check him again.
His father is Dr. “He wanted to be a doctor and a medical doctor,” Patrick Saidu told WAFB-TV, adding that Saidu hoped to become a pediatrician. Saidu comes from a family of immigrant doctors from Sierra Leone.
According to WAFB, ICE agents went to Singh’s home to serve the arrest warrant after he was released from the hospital on October 1, but determined that he was “unable to move due to his injuries.”
Fox News Digital has reached out to ICE for comment.

Louisiana police had also gone to his home days earlier but also decided he was too injured to be moved.
Sometime after this, Singh fled the state and has not been seen since.
“We are six months into this accident. Patricia was so tragically taken from us,” her father told WAFB.

“I’m begging them,” added his mother, Martha Saidu. “I am a grieving mother. My daughter did not deserve to die this way.”
Crimestoppers is offering a reward for information leading to Singh’s arrest.

Singh is expected to appear in court next week.
“He left behind his family, including a young child and his wife, in the Ponchatoula area,” Deputy U.S. Marshal Brian Fair told Crimestoppers on Tuesday. “He left behind devastation, not only with his family, but certainly with the victim’s family.”
