Louvre museum closed after robbery, says France’s culture minister

Paris: France’s iconic Louvre museum was closed on Sunday due to a robbery, the country’s culture minister said.

Rachida Dati said on social media that no injuries were reported but an investigation had been launched.

“There was a robbery at the opening of the Louvre Museum this morning,” he wrote to X.

The Louvre said it was closed “for exceptional reasons”, without providing further details about the specifics of the robbery.
