$2.8 million Powerball ticket sold at Southern California store

Even without a billion-dollar Powerball jackpot, someone in Southern California woke up on Christmas with way more money than they had on Christmas Eve.

The highly anticipated Powerball draw took place on Wednesday night and the winning numbers were as follows: 4-25-31-52-59 with a Powerball 19. The Power Play multiplier was: 2x.

Later Wednesday night, it was revealed that a player who purchased a single ticket in Arkansas won the $1.8 billion grand prize, the largest U.S. lottery jackpot ever won. They will choose between an annual award of $1.817 billion (immediate payment, followed by 29 annual payments increasing by five percent each year) and a lump sum payment of $834.9 million; both reward options are before taxes.

But it wasn’t just the jackpot that was won Wednesday night, there were a total of 770,270 winning tickets in California. state lottery officials sayPrize amounts range from $4 to $2,811,275; The last one was won here in SoCal.

According to the California Lottery, a ticket matching all five numbers (but not the Powerball) was sold at a 7-Eleven in Chino Hills. This lucky player was the only person in the state to win this amount of money; The next largest prize, $18,510, was won by 23 players from across the state who matched four numbers and the Powerball.

Now that the grand prize has been won, the lottery is reset. So there’s a $20 million jackpot in Saturday’s drawing.

Powerball tickets are $2 each and the drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights at 19:59.
