Love Island USA removes second contestant for using racial slur

A second Love Island USA contestant has been evicted from the villa after historic social media posts emerged showing her using a racial slur.
Alannah Keyser was removed after a video showing her lip-syncing to the n-word in a song was removed after other screenshots showed her using the same slur in an Instagram comment and Snap message.
These posts came from a private account and were not made public until after Keyser entered the villa, and so were not flagged during broadcaster Peacock’s review process, sources told the US publication. Including diversity.
Keyser, who has been on the dating series since Sunday, has yet to comment.
Keyser joined the series as a “bombshell” during the show’s traditional midseason Casa Amor twist, where new islanders enter the villa to challenge existing relationships.
Before leaving, Keyser appeared in the first 20 minutes of Thursday’s episode, chatting with one of the male contestants and then making another brief appearance in two non-speaking scenes.
However, the show’s narrator later confirmed her exit, telling viewers, “Alannah has left Casa Amor.”
This is the second time this season that a contestant has stopped using racist language. Vasana Montgomery was dismissed After the announcement of the squad.
Montgomery was seen using the n-word in two different videos circulating online.
He later said in a statement on his Instagram account: “I used a racist slur in these videos. There is no excuse for this and I am very sorry.”
“I am ashamed and disappointed in my words. I take full responsibility for what I said and understand why it hurt and upset people.”
Two more contestants were dropped from the seventh series of Love Island last year.
Yulissa Escobar was asked to leave the villa after videos of her insulting him in a podcast emerged.
In a TikTok video Escobar said in his post after it was removed: “I understand. I said a word that I shouldn’t have said. But I wish I had never said it. That’s the way it is. I can’t go back in time. I’m sorry for saying that word.”
During the same season, Cierra Ortega left the team after using a racist term for Asians. He later apologized and said: He said he “literally had no idea” that the term he used was considered an insult.
