Lynwood crash: Baby killed in horror rideshare crash, two in hospital with serious injuries

A seven-month-old child died in a horrific crash involving a carpool car overnight.

WA Police said a silver Toyota Kluger was driving along Nicholson Road in Lynwood, south-east of Perth, when it crashed into a tree about 3.40am on Saturday morning.

While the 35-year-old driver of the vehicle was slightly injured in the accident, the 3 people with him were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police have since confirmed that a baby being cared for at Fiona Stanley Hospital has died, while a 32-year-old woman and a three-year-old child remain in hospital.

According to police, the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation and anyone who saw the vehicle is asked to come forward.

Nicholson Rd is a major thoroughfare in Perth’s south-eastern suburbs.
