Mandurah: 20yo facing drugs and driving without licence charges after hit and run left teen in hospital
A 20-year-old man will appear in court this week over an alleged hit-and-run that left a Mandurah teenager in hospital.
TJ Wells, 18, was trying to cross Mandurah Terrace when a car allegedly swerved onto the wrong side of the road and rear-ended him at around 12.30am on December 1.
The accident was captured on security cameras and Mr Wells was seen being thrown into the air as a result of the impact.
The teenager was taken to Peel Health Campus before being discharged with minor injuries, including a gash to his head, scratches and bruising.
On December 8, Mandurah Detectives announced they had charged a 20-year-old man in connection with the crash.
Detectives allege the man was driving a white Toyota RAV4 when he hit Mr Wells in Mandurah Terrace and failed to stop and help.
The 20-year-old, from Meadow Springs, was charged with three counts of not having the authority to drive, committing an act causing bodily harm, failing to stop and obtain assistance after an incident causing bodily harm, failing to report an incident causing bodily harm, possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply, possession of MDMA, six counts of offering to sell or supply a prohibited drug, disorderly conduct in prison and obstructing police.
He will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on December 11.
