The incident involving three vehicles on the southbound highway at junction 7 at around 10.45am this morning caused serious disruption.

When emergency teams arrived at the scene, traffic was temporarily stopped, the safety of those involved in the accident was ensured, and the affected area was cleared.

As a result, there have been serious delays on the route and congestion is expected to continue for a while.

A diversion has been put in place to ease traffic flow, but motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journey and take alternative routes if possible.
