M25 motorists face traffic chaos and serious delays; A busy section of Britain’s busiest motorway has been blocked following a crash involving a tanker, lorry and two cars. The accident happened at junction 1B A282 between Swanscombe and Dartford.
Traffic extends back over the QEII Bridge, with traffic queues from the previous junction 30 (Purfleet). Motorists have been warned of serious delays and traffic jams of up to six kilometres. In his last update he wrote about South East National Highways X: Travel update – #A282 south J1B #PrincesRoadInterchange. Traffic is being diverted from the exit road around the intersection and then back to the entrance road. This is due to traffic collision. Delays of up to 40 minutes with 6 miles of traffic congestion. Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: “The M25 is blocked clockwise, with a tanker, a lorry and two cars experiencing long delays due to a crash at J1B A282 (Dartford). Traffic queues formed before J30 (Purfleet), causing traffic jams to return across the QEII bridge. Traffic was stopped shortly before 5.50pm. Another crash on J31 (Lakeside/Purfleet) also helped delays.” It didn’t happen. Routing – it slides.”
