M6 motorists faced traffic chaos this afternoon following a major crash that brought vehicles to a halt on a section of the motorway. The collision on the northbound carriageway also caused the A500 to come to a halt.

The crash occurred near Junction 16 (Stoke-on-Trent) and two lanes are currently closed. Emergency services were dispatched to the area where the collision occurred. National Highways warned motorists they could face delays of up to 45 minutes. An
