Mace says she’ll get ‘revenge’ on Trump by ‘adding to the unemployment number in January’

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) said Thursday that her “revenge” on President Trump will be by including him in the “unemployment figure” when his term ends in January 2027.

Mace wrote: social platform He was asked if he would “take revenge on Trump” for “ending” his political career.

“The answer is yes,” he said. “I will increase the unemployment number in January.”

Mace finished fifth in South Carolina’s Republican gubernatorial primary on Tuesday. Trump has endorsed Lt. Gov. Pamela Akşamte (R), who will oppose State Attorney General Alan Wilson (R) in the June 23 runoff election.

The South Carolina Republican said he plans to return to the private sector when his term ends, having previously founded a public relations firm and worked in local news before entering state-level politics.

On Thursday, in response to comedian and actor Rob Schneider’s social media post, Mace vowed not to end his tenure quietly.

“Don’t worry sir, I promise to be a bigger threat than ever,” he wrote. “There’s nothing to stop me.”

The South Carolina lawmaker, who has represented the Palmetto State’s 1st Congressional District since January 2021, became the state’s first Republican woman elected to Congress.

Mace often spoke out against his party. He was among four Republicans who signed the impeachment petition that prompted the House vote to pass the Epstein Files Transparency Act in November. He has been outspoken in calling for the Justice Department to release all of its files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In March, he introduced a resolution to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to subpoena former Attorney General Pam Bondi in the investigation into the Epstein case.

Mace, who says she is a sexual assault survivor, said Tuesday that she “chose to stick to principle” in the Epstein case even if it cost her political support.
