Nick Wright, Kevin Wildes, Chris Broussard and Danny Parkins react to the New York Knicks dropping Game 2 to tie the series at 1-1, detailing what went wrong and what it means moving forward. Danny then reveals the top 10 teams that should be in the upcoming NFL Draft, highlighting the teams that are under the most pressure and why this draft could define their future. Willie Colon and Coach Eric Mangini join the discussion on the Front Office segment, highlighting top prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft and where they could land.
April and May are undoubtedly some of the best times of the year for sports. We see some good playoff games in the NFL, but they usually only happen two days a week. October baseball has a magical feel, but I personally feel like the three Wild Card teams take away from that a bit.
We have action in the NHL and NBA nearly every night for several weeks, and the games are generally great. We have two NBA games tonight and the first one will be played in Game 2 between the Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons.

The Magic enter this game having already taken home-court advantage away from the top-seeded Pistons. I wasn’t one of those who thought Orlando would lose, but I believed the Pistons could advance without too much trouble. In Game 1, the Magic never really struggled.
Remember, this team lost on the road to the 76ers in the play-in game, then had to come back home and beat a pesky Hornets team. The Hornets’ play became ridiculous as they were destroyed. Beating the Pistons in Detroit was a bit of a shock, but the bigger surprise to me was that they outscored Detroit in three of the four quarters. Paolo Banchero, as always, was superb in the game, scoring 23 points and grabbing a team-high nine rebounds. The top five all scored 16 or more points. This is the key to Magic’s success; team contributions and a dominant Banchero.

The Pistons have probably seen that everyone thinks the sky is in love with them. That’s not quite the case. Many teams lose Game 1 and come back to win the series. It’s usually a bit of a wake-up call. But the bigger problem is that the Pistons don’t need a wake-up call. They haven’t won anything and they continue to grow as a team. They had to be hungry and take the lead of the series as soon as possible. Cade Cunningham was great as always and scored 39 points. However, only one player on his team reached double digits. Many speakers blamed this match on Jalen Düren. He could only score 8 points in 33 minutes. If the Pistons want to compete, you’d expect him to at least post a double-double.

Game 2 is generally about adjustments.
You’ll see the zig-zag theory a bit, but that’s not always the case. You don’t think you actually need to make adjustments for Magic. They shot nearly 50% from the floor, but only hit 30% of their three-pointers. Their defense held the Pistons to just 101 points on 40% shooting. This game will be more about controlling the glass and getting the team involved in Detroit. The problem is, this isn’t a great matchup for the Pistons.
Suggs is a talented defender (even if Cade scored almost 40 points against him). Wendell Carter Jr. is a good defender in Düren. Desmond Bane and Franz Wagner are better players than the Pistons have. Give me Magic +8.5. I think Detroit will win, but the points awarded are disrespectful to the Magic. I also like Düren to have a double-double, but he’s not worth playing at -188.
