The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles) according to GFZ and felt tremor in India, including Delhi-NCR.
The EMSC provider in the independent scientific organization and the real -time earthquake information in X said the earthquake occurred at 28 km Bāsawul in Afghanistan at 23:47: 36.
Many users went to the social media platform X to share their experiences.

According to the Red Cross, Afghanistan has a strong history of earthquakes, and the Hindu Kush Mountain series is a geologically active area where earthquakes occur every year. Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates sit on a large number of fault lines and directly through Herat there is an error line.
Last month, a 5.5 -magnitude earthquake hit the region at a depth of 87 km on 2 August. A 4.2 earthquake hit the country on 6 August.
These frequent earthquakes in Afghanistan damage the vulnerable communities that are already struggling with decades of conflict and inadequate development and leave them very little flexibility to deal with multiple simultaneous shocks.
Shallow earthquakes are more dangerous than deep earthquakes. This is due to the fact that seismic waves from shallow earthquakes have a shorter distance to travel to the surface, causing more powerful floor shaking and damaging structures and larger losses.
