Maharashtra local body elections: Nagar Panchayat, Nagar Parishad elections on December 2, results on December 3

The Maharashtra State Election Commission (SEC) on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, announced that the Nagar Panchayats and Nagar Parishads elections will be held on December 2, 2025 and the results will be declared on December 3, 2025.

The elections will be conducted using electronic voting machines (EVMs). Elections will be held in 246 Municipal Councils and 42 Nagar Panchayats in the state.

State Election Commissioner Dinesh Waghmare announced the program at a press conference in Mumbai on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. However, when the election time came, 29 municipal corporations, 32 zilla districts and 336 panchayat samitis did not announce the schedule.

Mr. Waghmare said that voting will be held to elect 6,859 members and 288 chairmen in these local bodies. Stating that the number of eligible voters in these elections is 1.7 million, the official added that there will be 13,355 voting centers.

He said that the last day to apply for candidacy is November 17 and the review will be held on November 18. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is November 21, the official added.

Mr. Waghmare said the voting will be done as per the October 31 voter rolls.
