Maharashtra Minister asks Jarange to hold talks with Govt ahead of protests

Maharashtra Minister Chandrakant Patil applied to Maratha quota leader Manoj Jararange Patil to meet with the government, because the second remained intact to protest the reservations requesting booking for people belonging to the Maratha community in Mumbai.

As of August 29, Mr. Jararange called for a protest in Azad Maidan in Southern Mumbai and demanded a reservation for the Maratha community under the other retrospective classes (OBC) category. The request encountered opposition from OBC groups.

Sangli Patil, “Jararange, pencil and paper with the government should sit in front of the table and fresh protests and hunger strikes instead of applying to the reservation of Maratha,” he said. “Although everyone has the right to protest in a legal way, he will force any agitation state that deviates from this path to action,” he added.

Before the planned demonstration, the state government reconstructed a cabinet sub -committee in the Maratha reservation. Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil will serve as the president of the Committee, which will have Mr. Chandrakant Patil as one of the members of the committee. Authorities said on Friday to coordinate the administrative and legal aspects of the committee and to examine the request for reservation to the caste of Maratha. Part of his job will be to consult protests, to facilitate the process of giving community certificate and to review the implementation of welfare plans for the society.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chandrakant Patil said that many people received Kunbi Kasttifik when he was the chairman of the committee. “How much should a person continue the same job?” Added.

During the term of office of Prime Minister Eknath Shinde, the State launched a campaign to monitor Kunbi records and enabled these noble maraths to benefit from OBC advantages.

Last year, the government announced a 10% reservation for the Maratha community. However, the decision was challenged at the Supreme Court of Bombay, where the hearings continued.
