Mahila Congress Stages Protests For Bandi Sanjay’s Dismissal

WARANGAL: Telangana Mahila Congress staged a protest at Congress Bhavan junction in Hanamkonda on Sunday, demanding removal of Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar following allegations against his son Bandi Sai Bageerath.

Mahila Congress state president Errabelli Swarna demanded immediate police intervention and arrest of Sai Bageerath in connection with the alleged molestation of a minor girl. Bandi said Sanjay should take responsibility and leave his post. Protesters shouted slogans, displayed banners and burnt the effigy of the Union minister.

Swarna criticized the BJP’s ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ campaign stating that it was the election slogan and claimed that the case did not proceed due to political influence. He said, “Justice must be equal for all. If Bandi Sanjay continues his duty as Union minister of state for home affairs, there will be no hope of a fair investigation for the victim.”

He also claimed that many BJP leaders were also facing similar allegations and were being protected by the party. About the victim, Swarna said that she attempted suicide due to trauma.

Mahila Congress has warned that protests will be held across the state if action is not taken against the minister and his son.
