‘Acting erratically’: Man arrested after allegedly stabbing another man in Melbourne CBD

A man has been arrested following a stabbing in Melbourne’s CBD.

Police allege a man armed with a large knife was “acting erratically” and ran across the car park of a shopping center in Lonsdale Street around 6am on Thursday morning.

The two men chased the suspect down Elizabeth Street before taking him into custody at the intersection of Lonsdale Street.

One of the men holding him down was allegedly stabbed in the lower body.

The injured, whose injuries were not life-threatening, were taken to hospital.

“Police arrived on scene three minutes later and detained a 32-year-old Dallas man,” the statement said.
