Major UK travel company plunges into administration – in business 10 years | UK | News

Tripsmiths and TS Travel offered travelers a wide range of adventures to some of the world’s most fascinating destinations, from French vineyard cruises and African safaris to picturesque getaways around Italy’s Lake Garda and vibrant, culture-filled city breaks.

The firms also welcomed visitors from north of the border, offering tours through the Highlands, trips to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and even trips on the Jacobite steam train.

This special experience included a presentation with former BBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood, as well as the opportunity to take part in a “commando tour” guided by former Royal Marine Monty Hall. However, both businesses have now gone into administration.

It has been confirmed that the firm’s assets and operations have been sold.

A spokesman told The Herald: “Tripsmiths Limited and TS Travel Limited entered administration on 14 May, with Michael Solomons and Andrew Pear of Moorfields appointed as joint administrators.”

“Following their appointment, the joint administrators have completed the sale of the company’s business and assets. The buyer has confirmed that existing customer bookings will continue to be met and all future holidays will proceed as normal.”

The spokesperson also said: “All customer funds are held securely in an escrow account and are guaranteed by the Travel Trust Association.

“Employees of companies transferred to the buyer under TUPE regulations in relation to the transaction.”

TS Tours, the trading name of TS Travel, stated on its website: “We know what a great travel experience is, and each of our trips is hand-crafted in-house, combining unique insights, privileged access and unforgettable experiences.”

He also said that “add to this the opportunity to travel in the company of inspiring experts such as Kate Adie, Martin Bell, Oz Clarke and Prue Leith, and then you’ve got a trip to write home about.”
