Malabar Devasom Board employees to stage token protest

The Coordination Committee of Kerala State Temple Employees threatened strong protest measures if the problems faced by Malabar Devaswom Board (MDB) employees were not closely handled. A jeton protest will be held at 11 pm on July 21, celebrating the 31st anniversary of the 1994 Supreme Court of Kerala.

VV Sreenvasan, President of the Coordination Committee, pointed out that no instructions in the Supreme Court decision – starting from the formation of the Board – despite the political changes for years, it was not implemented by the state government.

While the temples under the MDB follow the Madras Hindu Religious and Religious Foundation Law, which was still initiated in the British age, other Devaswom boards in the state follow different legislation. As a result, most of the benefits of employees under MDB are rejected by the benefits of their colleagues in other boards. This led to various disputes on the wage structure of MDB personnel. Meanwhile, a comprehensive Devaswom Law, which was framed by the government government eight years ago, has not yet been applied.

The Coordination Committee had organized a 64 -day protest a few years ago, which could not achieve the desired results.
