Mamata visits Bhabanipur EVM strong room, warns against counting irregularities

West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee warned against attempts to interfere with the counting process in the early hours of Friday, May 1, 2026, hours after visiting an EVM strong chamber in Bhabanipur alleging possible malpractice.

Appearing around 12:07 am after spending nearly four hours at the counting center for Bhabanipur constituency at Sakhawat Memorial School in south Kolkata, Ms Banerjee said only one person would be allowed into the designated counting area.
