A man died and another was taken to hospital after a fight broke out while ‘crowds were enjoying the sun’ in Primrose Hill.

Officers and ambulance crews were called to reports of a fight at the viewing point next to Regent’s Park at around 6.40pm today.

A 21-year-old man was treated at the scene for a stab wound, but despite all the efforts of paramedics, he was unfortunately pronounced dead a short time later.

Another man, believed to be in his 20s, was also found by police with stab wounds nearby in Regent’s Park Road.

It was stated that the person who was taken to the hospital by paramedics was not in a life-threatening or life-threatening condition.

No arrests have been made yet, but the crime scene remains and the park is closed to the public.

This came as the UK experienced its hottest day of the year so far, with people flocking to the park to enjoy the sun.

Inspector Matt Cox said: ‘This is an extremely tragic incident and our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones.

‘I would like to reassure the local community that the investigation is continuing apace and there will be an increased police presence in the area as we carry out inquiries.

‘I will appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and has any information that could help my officers come forward.’

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: ‘We were called at 6.41pm (7 April) to reports of an incident in Primrose Hill.

‘We sent a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, incident response officers and deployed crews from the London Air Ambulance.

‘Despite all the efforts of our teams, unfortunately one person died at the scene. ‘One patient was taken to a larger trauma centre.’
