Man, 67, arrested after allegedly ramming ute into police station north of Sydney

A man who allegedly drove his car into police officers before crashing into a police station has been arrested.

Police allege officers were on foot patrol on Market St in Mudgee when a ute approached them at around 1.30pm on Friday.

Officers attempted to stop the driver but he fled, allegedly plowing into another officer and then crashing the car outside Mudgee Police Station on Market St, about 270km northwest of Sydney.

The police arrested the 67-year-old male driver and detained him at the station, where investigations continue.

A police spokesman said no injuries were reported during the incident.

“Emergencies are being deployed to meet the needs of the local community and Mudgee Police Station remains available,” a spokesman said.
