Man, 72, died after being run over by his wife when she accidentally pressed the accelerator

When he heard an investigation, his wife accidentally ran in a parking lot after a man was killed in a ‘tragic accident’.
David Chifts and his wife Elaine Valentine went to Worksop, Notinghamshire, to establish an event they organized on September 12 last year.
The Nottingham Coroner’s court heard Mr. Chivers out of the car to remove a height barrier in the parking lot, so they could go to the recreation area.
However, when the driver reached the hanging lock while standing next to the open car door, automatic Vauxhall engines unexpectedly reversed.
The investigation was told that 72 -year -old Mr. Chivers was shot on the ground, and then worked when Mrs. Valentine accidentally pressed the accelerator.

Coroner said: ‘This left him very little time to react and hit the ground.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the Bracebridge Recreation Ground by a member of the people, but Mr. Chivers killed at around 11 o’clock.
PC Philip Broughton of Nottinghamshire Police said that the hearing could be ‘sudden acceleration syndrome’ of Mrs. Valentine.
He explained that a driver plans to brake, but instead of stepping into the accelerator.
During his death, a statement made by Bassetlaw Multicultural Union, both of which were members of the couple, said: ‘David was a very popular and valuable member of our festival team and the beloved husband of Elaine, the Board of Trustees.
‘As a committee, we made a quick decision to cancel the festival David and Elaine with deep respect and due to the proximity of the accident instead of the festival.’
The association added: ‘David was a gentle, compassionate and devoted individual to do everything to support the festival and other people.
‘His absence will be felt by all of us, and none of us will not forget his contributions, spirit or special support.
‘He will be deeply missed by everyone who knows him.’
