Man, 75, arrested on suspicion of upskirting woman at York station

A 75-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of taking a photo of a woman’s skirt on a train in York, British Transport Police (BTP) said.

A woman was packing her belongings as she prepared to leave the Harrogate to York service at around 5.20pm on June 19 when she was told a man had taken a photo up her skirt.

According to BTP, the woman challenged the man on the platform at York station and continued to confront him.

He reported the incident to station staff, who called BTP, but the man left the station on a bicycle.

The police force said in a statement on Sunday that the suspect was released on bail pending further investigation.
