Man arrested after 15-year-old stabbed to death in London

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death in London.

Metropolitan Police officers arrested 22-year-old Abdel Dedour on Boxing Day.

It follows a two-week manhunt and public appeal following the fatal stabbing of Adam Henry in Islington’s Westbourne Road.

Police said Adam was stabbed around 1pm on December 9th.

Officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene and Adam was taken to hospital where he died.

The Met said they arrested five people at an address in north-west London on Boxing Day.

In addition to Dedour, three men and a woman, aged between 18 and 47, were also detained on the grounds that they were helping a criminal.

A 47-year-old woman was rearrested following an attack on a police officer, while one of the three men, a 39-year-old, was also arrested for domestic violence and driving offences.

All five remain in custody, detectives said Saturday.

The Met said Adam’s family was being supported by specialist officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who led the investigation, said: “Our thoughts are with Adam’s loved ones during this unimaginably difficult time.

“There is no place for senseless acts of violence on our streets and those responsible for such crimes must be brought to justice.

“My dedicated team has worked tirelessly over the last few weeks.”

Tsidi Winion, 20, of Handyside Street, Camden, was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon on December 15 and will stand trial next year.

In a statement shared by the Met following Adam’s death, his family described the young man as “good-natured and loyal”.

They said he had many interests and was “always there with a smile and a cheeky sense of humour.”

“He was a loving son, brother, nephew, grandson, friend, and we will never get over the pain of not having him in our lives,” his family said.
