Telangana Remains in Coldwave Grip

Hyderabad: Telangana continues to reel under an intense cold wave, marking the 21st consecutive day of bitterly cold conditions across the state. Single-digit minimum temperatures were recorded in many places on Friday, December 27; the northern and central regions bore the brunt of the cold.
According to temperature data from Telangana Weatherman, Ginnedari in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 7.4°C, followed by Sangareddy’s Kohir at 7.6°C and Adilabad’s Bheempoor at 8.8°C. Other cold spots included Moinabad in Rangareddy (9.2°C), Pothireddipet in Siddipet (9.4°C) and Gandhari in Kamareddy (9.7°C).
HCU Serilingampally in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits emerged as the coldest place with 9.9°C. Moula Ali (10.7°C), Alwal (10.8°C), Rajendranagar and Macha Bollaram (11.1°C each) and Gachibowli (11.2°C) also reported unusually low temperatures. In many other urban areas, minimum temperatures were recorded between 11°C and 13°C.
Weather enthusiasts noted that cold wave conditions are expected to gradually ease as minimum temperatures are predicted to increase, with a break likely starting January 1.
