Man arrested for molesting and assaulting woman after brawl inside hotel

Bengaluru police arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly harassing, threatening and assaulting a woman after breaking into her hotel in Parappana Agrahara in south-east Bengaluru.
The accused was identified as Hrithik Reddy, a homeowner from Shantipura near Parappana Agrahara. The 37-year-old woman runs a hotel with her husband near Shantipura Main Road, where the incident took place.
The incident occurred around 19:00 on Tuesday. Reddy got into a verbal argument with another motorist after their two-wheeler was involved in a minor accident. The argument escalated and both men started fighting on Shantipura main road. During the melee, the attackers entered the hotel run by the woman and created chaos inside the restaurant.
“The woman asked them to come out and fight, but they continued. When the woman insisted and raised her voice, Reddy pushed her and attacked her,” said a police officer. Hindu. Reddy allegedly abused the woman when she shouted at her.
The officer also noted that the accused also threw away sambar and other food items stored in the hotel. He also closed the restaurant and threatened the woman, saying he would make sure she could no longer run the hotel in the area.
The next day, following the woman’s complaint, Parappana Agrahara police arrested the accused.
