Man arrested on suspicion of murder after death of 21-year-old in Primrose Hill | UK news

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the stabbing death of 21-year-old Finbar Sullivan in London’s Primrose Hill.
Metropolitan police arrested a 27-year-old man on Friday. A second man, 25, was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in police custody.
Finbar Sullivan, 21, was stabbed in a north London park in the early evening hours of Tuesday and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His father, Christopher Sullivan, said he went to the park to use the new camera his son was given for his birthday.
Another man, believed to be in his 20s, was also taken to hospital after being found with stab wounds in Regent’s Park Road nearby. It was learned that the injured person’s life was not in danger.
Detective inspector Andy Griffin said: “My thoughts remain with Finbar’s family, who continue to receive support from specialist officers at this unimaginably difficult time.”
Police said residents can expect an increased police presence in Primrose Hill and surrounding areas.
Sullivan’s father, a musician and founder of the 1980s band Blue Rondo à la Turk, said his son wanted to be a cameraman like his grandfather, Michael Seresin, who worked on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Rambo III.
“This is the worst tragedy I can imagine,” the 65-year-old man said. “He’s my only son… I had him when I was 45. He can never be replaced. He had bought a new camera, we all donated money for his 21st birthday and he took it there to do some filming.”
Following the arrests, police thanked citizens who had come forward with information and encouraged others to do so in Primrose Hill, a popular spot in the capital with tourists and residents, adding that it “could have a major impact on our investigation”.
