Trump remarks on NATO role in Afghanistan ‘unacceptable’: Danish PM

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen criticized US President Donald Trump on Saturday for saying North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allies were staying away from the front lines in Afghanistan.
“I completely understand what Danish veterans say no words can describe how much this hurts,” he said on Facebook.
“It is unacceptable for the US president to question the determination of allied soldiers in Afghanistan.” In an interview with Fox News ON on Thursday, Trump said NATO “will say it’s sending some troops to Afghanistan.”
“And they did, they stayed a little bit behind, a little bit outside the front lines,” he added, triggering outrage.
