Man charged over throwing Molotov cocktails into Perth car yard
Turning first to crime news this morning, a 39-year-old man has been charged by police after allegedly setting fire to a car garage in Welshpool last month.
At around 5.45am on February 22, multiple fire trucks rushed to the scene along Colin Jamieson Drive, where cars parked at the business were fanning the flames.
It will be alleged that the defendants used Molotov cocktails to start the fire that destroyed 19 vehicles.
The estimated cost of damage to vehicles was $180,000, with $500,000 in damage to the business. No surrounding buildings were affected.
The 39-year-old Thornlie man has been charged with criminal damage by fire and will appear before Perth Magistrates Court on April 17.
