Man charged with kidnap and murder of Sydney woman whose body has not been found | Australia news
A man was charged with allegedly kidnapping and killing a woman whose body has not yet been found.
Police are continuing to investigate the disappearance of a 58-year-old woman who did not return to her home in Sydney’s northwest on Tuesday.
Family members told officers they last heard from him around 4:50 p.m. Monday, and he told them he was meeting a relative in Winston Hills.
The woman’s car was found at about 9.30am the next day in the suburb, about 28km west of Sydney.
Detectives arrested a 33-year-old man around 1:40 p.m. Thursday after beginning an investigation into the woman’s disappearance.
He was found sitting in a white Toyota Hilux in woodland along the Parnell Fire Road at Tomerong, south of Nowra.
Police said, “The woman’s body has not been found yet. The investigation continues.”
The man was taken to Nowra police station, where he was charged with murder and refused bail.
He will appear in bail court on Friday.
